Cookie Policy
Which cookies and browser storage convoro.org and the Convoro chat widget use, and how to change your choice.

1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, improve user experience, and provide information to site owners. Cookies can be "persistent" (remaining on your device until deleted) or "session" (deleted when you close your browser).
Websites can also keep information in your browser’s local storage or IndexedDB, which work in a similar way. This policy covers all of them.
2. How We Use Cookies
Convoro uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
Essential
RequiredNeeded for the site and dashboard to work: your cookie choice, stored in local storage, and your sign-in to the dashboard, kept by Google Firebase Authentication in your browser’s storage.
Functional
Local storageThe Convoro chat widget remembers your conversation and the details you typed into it, and the dashboard remembers notices you have already seen. Nothing here is used for analytics or advertising.
Analytics and Advertising
OptionalSet only if you click Accept All. Google Analytics 4 measures how visitors use convoro.org, and the Google Ads tag measures sign-ups from our ads. If you choose Essential Only, or make no choice, Google’s tag runs in Consent Mode with analytics and advertising storage denied, so these cookies are not set; Google may still receive basic measurement signals without cookies.
When you create an account, the Google tag is also given your email address, which it hashes in your browser before sending, so Google can count the sign-up (Google’s "enhanced conversions").
3. Specific Cookies and Storage We Use
| Name | Type | Stored in | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| abl_cookie_consent | Essential | Local storage | Until you clear it | Remembers whether you chose Accept All or Essential Only. |
| firebaseLocalStorageDb | Essential | IndexedDB | Until you sign out | Keeps you signed in to the dashboard (Google Firebase Authentication). |
| abl_visitor_*, abl_name_*, abl_email_* | Functional | Local storage | Until you clear it or restart the chat | Chat widget: a random visitor ID so your conversation continues across pages, and the name and email you typed into the chat so it doesn’t ask again. |
| trial-usage-ack-* | Functional | Local storage | Until you clear it | Dashboard: remembers that you have seen the notice about AI usage during the free trial. |
| _ga | Analytics | Cookie | 2 years | Google Analytics 4: tells visits apart with a random ID. Set only after you click Accept All. |
| _ga_SVQMPJBL3L | Analytics | Cookie | 2 years | Google Analytics 4: keeps track of the current session. Set only after you click Accept All. |
| _gcl_au | Advertising | Cookie | 90 days | Google Ads: measures sign-ups that came from our ads. Set only after you click Accept All, and only while we run Google Ads. |
4. Chat Widget Storage on Our Customers’ Websites
When visitors use the Convoro chat widget on a customer’s website, the widget keeps the same local-storage entries (abl_visitor_*, abl_name_* and abl_email_*) in the visitor’s browser:
- A random visitor ID, so the conversation continues during and between visits
- The name and email address the visitor typed into the chat, so the widget does not ask again
The widget sets no cookies. The messages a visitor sends, the details they share and their visitor ID are sent to Convoro so it can reply and record the lead for the business.
5. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies and storage are set by third-party services we use:
- Google (Analytics and Ads): Analytics and advertising cookies, only after you click Accept All
- Google (Firebase Authentication): Browser storage that keeps you signed in to the dashboard
These third parties have their own cookie policies. We encourage you to review them for more details.
6. Managing Cookies
You can manage your cookie preferences in several ways:
- Cookie Banner: When you first visit our site, a cookie banner lets you choose Accept All or Essential Only. To change or withdraw your choice at any time, click Cookie settings at the bottom of any page and pick again. Choosing Essential Only turns Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement off and removes their cookies from this site
- Browser Settings: Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies and site data through their settings menus. Note that blocking essential storage may prevent you from using the Service
- Device Settings: Mobile devices typically offer controls for managing cookies in their browser settings
Note: Blocking or clearing essential storage will sign you out and prevent you from using the dashboard. The Service needs it to keep you signed in.
7. Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) or Global Privacy Control signal. Convoro does not currently respond to these signals. Analytics and advertising cookies are set only if you click Accept All in the cookie banner.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable laws. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed. We recommend reviewing this policy periodically.
