Add an AI chatbot to your Wix site

What Wix requires

Wix runs custom code only on a site that is published and connected to a domain, and connecting a domain needs a Wix Premium plan. Wix also says its support team can’t help with third-party code, so if something doesn’t work, contact us instead. (Checked against Wix’s help pages on 28 September 2026.)

Step by step

Install with Custom Code

  1. Copy your snippet from Convoro

    In your Convoro dashboard, save your Business information first: the snippet needs your business ID. Then open Website Widget, set the name, colours and welcome message, and under Add it to your site click Copy.

    You only paste it once. Changes you make in the dashboard later show up on your site without touching the code again.

  2. Open Custom Code in your Wix dashboard

    Go to Settings, then Custom Code in the Development & integrations section, and click + Add Custom Code.

  3. Paste the snippet and name it

    Paste the snippet into the code box and give it a name you’ll recognise, such as “Convoro chat”.

  4. Choose all pages, loaded once, at Body – end

    Under Add Code to Pages, choose All pages and load the code once per visit rather than on each new page, so the widget loads a single time. Under Place Code in, choose Body – end. Click Apply.

  5. Check it’s live

    Open your site in a private or incognito window. The chat bubble appears in the corner you chose, and opens by itself unless you turned auto-open off. Send a test question, then find the conversation in your Leads inbox.

On your site

What the chat does on a Wix site

  • Answers visitors from your business profile (services, prices, hours and locations) and only about your business.
  • Replies in the language the visitor writes in, day and night.
  • Can ask for a name and email before the chat, and a phone number when someone books. Switch each off if you prefer.
  • Takes booking requests, emails you the details and marks the conversation as booked in your Leads inbox. It doesn’t sync with a calendar.
  • Shows your packages as cards with a Book button, and an Open in Google Maps button for your address.
  • Matches your brand: name, colours, avatar, welcome message and which corner it sits in. It renders in its own shadow DOM, so your theme’s styles don’t change it and it doesn’t change your theme.

Troubleshooting

If the chat doesn’t appear

  • Check your site is published and connected to a domain. Custom code doesn’t run on a free wixsite.com address.
  • Check the code is set to All pages, not a single page.
  • Check your published site in a private window rather than the Editor.
  • The widget is switched on: the switch at the top of Website Widget should read “Live on your site”.
  • You pasted the snippet from your own dashboard, so the business ID is yours.
  • You’re checking the live site in a private window, not an editor preview.
  • An ad or script blocker in your browser isn’t hiding it.
  • If your site sets a Content Security Policy, it allows https://www.convoro.org for scripts and connections.
  • If the chat appears twice, the snippet is on the page twice. Remove one copy.

FAQ

Wix questions

Do I need a Wix Premium plan?

Wix only runs custom code on a published site that’s connected to a domain, and connecting a domain needs a Wix Premium plan. A free site on a wixsite.com address can’t use it.

Can I use Wix’s Embed HTML element instead?

It isn’t a good fit. That element puts code inside a box on one page, so the chat would be stuck inside the box instead of floating over your whole site. Use Settings → Custom Code.

Is Convoro a Wix app?

No. There’s nothing to install from the Wix App Market. Convoro is one script snippet you add under Custom Code.

Will it slow my site down?

The snippet loads the widget asynchronously, so it doesn’t block your pages from rendering.
